River of Doubt Intro
Many Christians today are traveling down the River of Doubt. Its dark current pulls us into uncertainty ... where we have more questions than answers. Questions “we’re not supposed to ask in church.” Can I still believe the creation story? Do I need a more progressive Christianity? Is God guilty of genocide? Can I still be a Christian if Christians ignore injustice? Many Christians are “deconstructing” their faith, and some are even “de-converting.” While we all have doubts ... doubt is a part of faith. When the disciples saw the resurrected Jesus, Matthew 28 says, “They worshiped Him, but some doubted.” Amid their doubts, they clung to Christ, and God used them to change the world. In fact, God designed our doubts to take us deeper into our faith. So, let’s journey down the River of Doubt together.
